IONA MATHESON - COROMANDEL

Iona graduated from AUT in 2013 obtaining a PG Diploma in Art and Design. Moving to the Coromndel after completing an artist’s residency at Drving Creek. This incredible opportunity helped to propel Iona’s art practice in new directions.

Her latest collection of Mythological Boirds are inspired by the lush landscape home to many species. Each sculpture is a unique creation, reflecting the interwoven relationships between flora and fauna and geological formations. Revealing textural layers evocative of tis land, decorated with shimmering colours.
